B bros

Little boys. I just love everything about them! Maybe it's because I'm going through an easier, more fun phase with my own little one, but there's just nothing better than watching him search for the biggest rock in the backyard or simultaneously try to give the cat a hug and pull her tail. Everything he does is so curious, so mischievous, and so very boy.

These two brothers were the same way - running, jumping, and making their mama laugh and roll her eyes. And could they look any more alike? SUCH cute little blondies. This mini-session was a joy!

C family

There's just nothing sweeter than sisters. My own sis (hi Abby!) has appeared on this blog many-a-time, and I love and cherish the special bond we have despite our 11 year age gap. These two sweeties reminded me of how very blessed I am to have my awesome sister, and I hope that they, being much closer in age, have an even more wonderful bond as they grow. Here are a few of my favorites of the little lovelies and their adorable parents.

To my little love

Dear Hayden,

Two years ago today you were on your way into this world, and I couldn't WAIT to meet you. Time has literally flown by as you've grown from a stubborn, people-loving, snuggle-giving, paci-addicted infant to a stubborn, people-loving, snuggle-giving (when I can catch you), paci-addicted toddler. Looking back, I can't believe how much of your personality was present in your first few months. Strong-willed from the very beginning, sleep was a major battle, but you thrived on routine and were happiest around those who love you. I can't say I enjoyed every minute of it - the sleepless first weeks, the "witching hour," the battles we've faced over food pickiness. And it wouldn't be realistic to say that I have. But it's all been worth it. Every single second, whether giggling and snuggling or crying tears of frustration and inadequacy as I watched you cry. You're not a steriotypically "easy" child, but I can honestly say I wouldn't have it any other way, and my heart could literally break in half with love for you.

I can't even describe the joy and sunshine you've brought into my life. These past few months have been especially wonderful as you've grown into a communicating, intelligent, reasonable, sensitive little person. You adore your crib. It's your safe haven and find comfort in the 5 "friends" and at least as many pacis, and despite our rough start with sleeping, you're the absolute best-sleeping toddler I've ever met. From the second I get you in the morning, you talk, talk, talk my ear off all day, and it's SO fun to hear you say more and more sentences, use your imagination, and come up with the craziest things to say. You never stop moving. Ever. Even while watching your beloved Thomas or Wiggles, you're constantly multitasking. Lunch is your favorite meal, and I think you could live off of peanut butter and fruit if I let you. You're a mama's boy but adore rough-housing and playing with your Daddy and uncles. You have the most awesomely contagious laugh I've EVER heard, and it's impossible to be in a bad mood around a giggling Hayden. As active as you are, you love to "rock-a-baby" before bedtime and give the BEST hugs.

I pray for you so much - especially that as you grow you'll use your strong will and people-loving personality for good, and more specifically for God's glory. I pray that you'll love and adore him as Savior and Friend.

Happy, happy birthday angel bug!

Love, Mommy

Sweet baby C

The morning of the first day of my mini-session weekend, I woke up bright and early, bleary-eyed, greatly in need of coffee, and thankful but slightly overwhelmed at the thought of the busy weekend to come. And then, for my very first of many spring minis, I had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest, most even-tempered babe - a dream session. He woke up from his little snooze in the car cheerful and calm and stayed that way the whole time I snapped away pictures. I kid you not - I never saw a tear - not even a frown - as we moved sweet C from one spot to the next, dressing him in a hat, then no hat, then stripped him down to his diaper. He was a little charmer throughout, and his session was made perfect by the fact that at 8 months, he was not yet crawling! The sitting-but-not-yet-crawling stage is quickly becoming one of my favorites to photograph. I just love how his images came out and am so glad to have met C and his wonderful parents!

Celebrating 3 years & 3 months - J Family

I am so sadly behind on my blogging due to editing from lots of last month's fab sessions and an awesome vacation that my family took last week, but I'm finally back!

One of my favorite families celebrated big brother M's 3rd birthday and littlest sister S's 3 months with a fun playground session. These sweet siblings (along with middle sister A) continued to impress me with how well-behaved and sweet-tempered they are. And they actually like to take pictures, as opposed to my crazy child who points and cries, "No camera!" when I try to get a few shots of him. Sigh. And little M's smiles grew even bigger as he talked about his upcoming trip to the beach! They just couldn't get any cuter.
