Thankful

Happy belated Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

Photobucket

Things I'm thankful for this year:

my hilarious and hard working husband

my crazy active toddler

sunshine and fall weather

Starbucks peppermint mochas

Hayden's awesome aunt and uncles who play blocks, build fires, and climb stairs just to make him laugh (his Mimi and Papa pretty much rock too!)

rice with turkey gravy

prayer journaling

all of the amazing families and clients who have taken a chance on me this year as I've launched Katie Davidson Photography

hour long phone conversations with great friends about everything and nothing

the fact that's it's now officially Christmas season!

So, so much more. I am blessed.

The C family

Remember precious baby L? Well, meet her awesome parents and big brother S! A big brother at only 15 months! We're pretty big fans of this family around my house. Mama C and I had an instant bond when we met last year, being the same age and having newbie boys just days apart. Hayden and little S are destined to be BFFs and have even started playing together - chasing each other around and watching Elmo. When they're not fighting over the same toy, that is. We did this little shoot right outside the C's home, since Miss L was still only days old. It was such an honor to capture this brand new family of 4. Love you, C's!

The J Family

So I've been sitting at the computer for waaaaay too long trying to decide which images from the J family's mini-session to share with you! There are just so many cute ones. Definitely an attractive family, boy M and Miss A are expecting a new brother or sister soon. Mama J (who looks entirely too good for her third pregnancy!) is going to have 3 babes under 3 years old soon! That makes me tired just thinking about it. But with such sweet-tempered, cooperative children, I'm sure she'll pull it off beautifully :o) A few to start:

I have a bit of a photog crush on little M. I can't believe I got so many sweet, smiley shots from a 2-year old!

C family

The C family was a completely different experience for me on mini-session weekend. The reason? They were my only family with children old enough to look at the camera and smile without my lovely assistants jumping up and down and calling their names! Fastest session of the weekend :o)

My time with the C fam reminded me of a time when my mom had our family's pictures done. My little brother cracking jokes and making funny faces while teenage me rolled my eyes and was completely embarrassed by all the family togetherness. But the C kids were great sports. Here are a few of my faves.

The L's

Besides snuggy-buggy newborns, is there anything cuter than twin girls? And in smocked dresses? Swoon. Meet the L family - definitely my most memorable mini-session of that day! There were giggles and there were tears as one sweet twin modeled her little heart out, and the other...just wasn't a fan of the camera. I'll let you figure out which is which, but both are equally adorable! There's something refreshing about family images as "real" as these.

Then Mr. and Mrs. L got a little couples session when Miss B and Miss K decided they were WAY more interested in the possibility of ice cream than in smiling for me. Talk about gorgeous parents!

I had a blast with you, L's!

Baby L

I'm going to interrupt my mini-session family posts to share 2 special things: 1.) The completely adorable and snuggy baby L and 2.) my brand new LOGO! My rockin' logo was created by the awesome Jodi Shaheen of Leap Frog Creations, and I adore it! Thank you Jodi!

Now onto the sleepiest, girliest newborn ever. I've always been a girlie-girl and a lover of all things pink, but after having my son and being immersed in blue, blue, and more blue, frilly pink blankets and tiny Mary Jane socks seem so foreign, yet so delicious.

I love these images of sweet baby L and not just because her mama happens to be one of my soul sisters! Check back later next week for shots of this little one with her whole family. Sweet dreams, Miss L!

The K family

Meet the sweet K family! I've always, always wanted a sister close in age. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE my 13-year old sister to death, as you can tell by the fact that her face is plastered all over this blog! But every time I ask her about her personal life - boys, friends, etc. - she says, "I can't tell a MOM!" Sigh.

But Miss M and baby C are sure to have an awesome sisterly bond! It was so cute to watch them interact, especially when Miss M moved away from her little sister when baby C leaned in to hug her! Just like a big sister - always wanting her space! Thanks K fam!

The C family

For the first of several posts from my wonderful holiday mini-sessions, I want you to meet the adorable C family! The weather couldn't have been more perfect on this Saturday, and the C fam were such great sports as we trekked from one side of the church grounds to the other. Mr. O reminded me of my brothers (I have 3!) when they were younger - running around everywhere and dying to play in the dirt! And little J couldn't have been cuter or more well-behaved! I especially love this first one. Thanks C's! :o)
