Don't let the inactivity of this blog fool you. KDP has been SO busy with fall family sessions as well as fall mini sessions. I wish I had enough time for sessions, processing, orders, emails, not mention mommying and being a wife to my hubs without letting this blog fall behind, but I've come to realize it isn't a reality. I'm hoping to have a marathon blog update night in the near future, but if I don't, I'm ALWAYS keeping my Facebook page updated with sneak peeks from recent sessions. I'd love it if you became a fan and kept up with what's going on with KDP until I get back the time to devote to my blog. I will update it eventually, but I think you'll agree that the two little faces above need my time more than this blog :)

Announcing Holiday Mini Sessions 2011
Deck the halls y'all! Well, okay we're still a little ways from the holiday season, but the time to start thinking about your Christmas card while simultaneously capturing your growing family and children is definitely here. Fall minis are my favorite! The weather is cooler, the colors are scrumptious, and the impending holiday season is thisclose to arriving.
And what is a mini session, you ask? It's a fun, quick session at a discounted rate at a gorgeous location that I've chosen. Whether you choose to have your whole family photographed or simply your kids or teen, holiday minis are the perfect time to capture treasured images of your loved ones and snag some great shots for your Christmas card and holiday gifts. Here are all the details:
When: Saturday & Sunday, October 22-23.
Where: Downtown Duluth. I have done many sessions at this location, and I ALWAYS love the resulting images. All within walking distance, this spot has train tracks, a cool, colorful brick wall, lots of lush autumn trees, and a couple of other awesome little "nooks." Below is a sampling of several sessions I've done in Duluth:
Investment:
$125 for a 30-40 minute session and your 15 best, creatively enhanced images on a high resolution CD.
**For THREE days (ending Saturday, September 24th) I'm offering the sessions at $10 off to clients who have booked a session with me in the past - just because I love my clients so much :)**
Time Slots:
Saturday, October 22: 8:15am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm

Tiny Z and her family
This past spring I got the opportunity to photograph the family of one of the most creative women I know. When I was a teen, with my artist mom and grandmother, I knew I wanted to do something creative but wasn't sure yet what my niche would be. And this woman, my awesome high school art teacher, inspired me creatively and got me thinking "out of the box." I didn't know then that photography would end up being my love, but dabbling in other areas of art and learning from her (a super talented artist herself) definitely contributed to the way I think as an artist today.
I met the B family at their home to celebrate the arrival of their 3rd child, and I love everything about this shoot - the colors, the fun, and especially the genuine family love. In addition to being a great artist, Mama B is also a pretty fabulous mom. And her adorable children cracked me up as they played and joked around together. I hope my boys have as much fun together one day. Here are some favorite, the first of which is sweet Z in a family cradle.
I get to meet up with the B fam again in October, and I'm excited to see how Z and her fun sibs have grown!

C twins - one year old!
Speaking of adorable one year old twins....I totally thought I had already blogged this session, but apparently I added the images to my Facebook fan page and not my blog! I'm telling you, kids kill your brain cells. But anyway, I'm SO GLAD I remembered because these 2 cuties are way too fun not to share! You may remember the C twins from this session as newborns or part of this mini session as infants (isn't it fun to watch them grow?), and now as newly one year olds, they're cuter than ever, standing, interacting, and getting ready to be a big brother and big sister! I remember the one year old age being a little rough with Hayden (although he is a rather, ahem, strong-willed child), but these 2 have the sweetest laid-back dispositions. Happiest birthday, H & H!

M twins - one year old
I met the M family earlier this spring and was so excited when they asked me back to get some more images of their sweet twin girls at one year old! It's really such a precious age to photograph - becoming more and more like toddler and less like babies, learning to walk and talk, coming more adventurous. And these two lovelies like to keep me guessing! At our last session M (red hair, blue eyes) was a little natural in front of the camera, while D took a while to warm up to me. And this time, cute D didn't stop smiling and laughing the whole session. while M decided she'd rather be napping or exploring. They crack me up, and I bet they're always keeping mommy guessing too! I so admire mamas of twins. From this session, I especially love the individuals of each girl with mommy or daddy! They sure love their parents.

Baby G
It's been hilarious to me that every newborn session I've booked in 2011 has been a baby girl. Now I LOVE photographing those sweet little things - all the pink and frills and fun that I haven't gotten to experience yet since I have 2 boys. But I do have to say I was super excited to mix it up a bit and photograph the handsome little G. The sweet guy wasn't so thrilled about having his picture taken (but really what male of any age is? 3 days, 3 years, 30 years, they're all a little skeptical!), but when he finally decided to give in and go to sleep, he slept hard and gave me lots of great images for his mommy and daddy to treasure. I just love his sweet face and dark features and am grateful for the R family for letting me capture this first, special season.

Sweet L
I'm hoping to play blog catch up this month, so to begin, I want to share some sweet images from an adorable little boy taken earlier this spring. This little guy was a doll baby with the sweetest disposition. I don't think he cried once through a couple of outfit changes and even being stuffed in a basket! And I love those chubby cheeks! But then again I'm partial to chubby cheeked babies :)
