Hayden 9 months

My sweet lil' baby turned 9 months earlier this month, and my sister Abby helped me take him for an impromptu photo shoot by the lake at our church. At 9 months, he's a bundle of energy - crawlin', crusin', and making momma smile! And, oh yeah, he LOVES Elmo!

The "R" Family

Last week I had the wonderful experience of having a photo session with a family other than my own! The sweet R family family of 6! This mama and daddy have 4 children under the age of 6, the youngest being little Miss E who was born in March. I'm very grateful for the opportunity I had in shooting this family, and I had a blast with the little ones. Watching the two rambunctious little boys gave me a glimpse into my future with my own little guy! And of course Miss E made me reminisce about the snuggly newborn days. I hope the R's had as much fun as I did!

Hello, and welcome to the first post of my photography blog! I'm so excited to document my journey as an aspiring photographer and look forward to sharing my pictures as I grow as a photographer and an artist. My first and foremost passions in life are Jesus, my husband, and my son, but photography is quickly becoming a close fourth! I'm learning so much already - cameras, lenses, light, editing. It's both challenging and fun, and I know that no matter how much I learn, there will always be more! But capturing the innocent glance of a baby or a sweet, tender moment between father and son make it all worth it! So thanks for joining me on this journey!

Although I have ZILLIONS of pictures of my son Hayden, I haven't quite sorted through the best of the best yet, so my first post will focus on one of my first "clients" - my 12-year old sister Abby! (She paid me with gratitude :)) You know those self-conscious preteen girls who hate hate having their picture taken? Well, Abby isn't one of them! She loved being my model for the afternoon, and we laughed a lot during her session. I wish I had been this cute at 12!
