(Another) B family!

I got the great privilege of meeting up with the adorable B family again before the holidays! Baby girl Z grew so much in just a few short months! The colors from these fun images - especially on those precious girls - make me smile. Mama B definitely knows how to pull some great outfits for her family! Happy spring, B's :)

The B's

Remember precious M? When I saw her and her parents again before Christmas, she had grown up so much but was still the happy and content baby that I remembered before her newborn session! As beautiful as her mama, sweet M never stopped smiling as we captured some holiday images, decked her out in pearls for a bit of girlie fun, and even donned a special family christening gown. If only my own babies would be so cooperative :)

A & C *engagement session*

I had so much fun the end of last year jumping in to a new arena for me as a photographer - engagement sessions! I LOVE doing families, children, newborns, and babies, but getting the chance to work with a couple who didn't need me to jump up and down, shout their name, or wave a toy around to get their attention to look at the camera was a bit refreshing :) And this couple is so spunky and fun! They're planning an Atlanta-themed wedding, so of course getting the city's skyline in their engagement images was a must! Here's to a happily ever after for A & C - cheers!

New Post?! And the A Family

Oh, my sweet neglected blog! Long time, no update. This past year has been the craziest and busiest year I've ever had with KDP (which is a GREAT thing), but between sessions, editing, client orders, and not to mention mommying to 2 crazy boys and being a wife, this poor blog is always the first thing to be put on the back burner. Hopefully those who have enjoyed it in the past have been keeping up with my Facebook page, but I am tentatively saying that I am going to try to make it a priority to have this blog updated with all of my awesome families, newborns, and even engagement sessions in the next 6ish weeks. Who wants to keep me accountable? I really am going to try my best! If you're a client looking for your family's post, know that these posts will NOT be in chronological order! Goodness, it would take me way too long to figure that out, and then I might get overwhelmed and give up this whole updating project all together ;)

I'm going to start with the beyond adorable A family! You'll see this family again, as they're doing a Baby's First Year package, but this first session is going to be hard to beat! These sweet sisters are so striking with their different features and so giggly and sweet. These photos were taken at the beautiful Payne Corley House, and we were so blessed to be able to use the house and property. Enjoy the A's! I know I did.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween (one day late) from my little monsters!

Don't let the inactivity of this blog fool you. KDP has been SO busy with fall family sessions as well as fall mini sessions. I wish I had enough time for sessions, processing, orders, emails, not mention mommying and being a wife to my hubs without letting this blog fall behind, but I've come to realize it isn't a reality. I'm hoping to have a marathon blog update night in the near future, but if I don't, I'm ALWAYS keeping my Facebook page updated with sneak peeks from recent sessions. I'd love it if you became a fan and kept up with what's going on with KDP until I get back the time to devote to my blog. I will update it eventually, but I think you'll agree that the two little faces above need my time more than this blog :)

Announcing Holiday Mini Sessions 2011

Deck the halls y'all! Well, okay we're still a little ways from the holiday season, but the time to start thinking about your Christmas card while simultaneously capturing your growing family and children is definitely here. Fall minis are my favorite! The weather is cooler, the colors are scrumptious, and the impending holiday season is thisclose to arriving.

And what is a mini session, you ask? It's a fun, quick session at a discounted rate at a gorgeous location that I've chosen. Whether you choose to have your whole family photographed or simply your kids or teen, holiday minis are the perfect time to capture treasured images of your loved ones and snag some great shots for your Christmas card and holiday gifts. Here are all the details:

When: Saturday & Sunday, October 22-23.

Where
: Downtown Duluth. I have done many sessions at this location, and I ALWAYS love the resulting images. All within walking distance, this spot has train tracks, a cool, colorful brick wall, lots of lush autumn trees, and a couple of other awesome little "nooks." Below is a sampling of several sessions I've done in Duluth:

Investment:

$125 for a 30-40 minute session and your 15 best, creatively enhanced images on a high resolution CD.

**For THREE days (ending Saturday, September 24th) I'm offering the sessions at $10 off to clients who have booked a session with me in the past - just because I love my clients so much :)**

Time Slots:

Sunday, October 23: 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm

I'm looking forward to October!

Tiny Z and her family

This past spring I got the opportunity to photograph the family of one of the most creative women I know. When I was a teen, with my artist mom and grandmother, I knew I wanted to do something creative but wasn't sure yet what my niche would be. And this woman, my awesome high school art teacher, inspired me creatively and got me thinking "out of the box." I didn't know then that photography would end up being my love, but dabbling in other areas of art and learning from her (a super talented artist herself) definitely contributed to the way I think as an artist today.

I met the B family at their home to celebrate the arrival of their 3rd child, and I love everything about this shoot - the colors, the fun, and especially the genuine family love. In addition to being a great artist, Mama B is also a pretty fabulous mom. And her adorable children cracked me up as they played and joked around together. I hope my boys have as much fun together one day. Here are some favorite, the first of which is sweet Z in a family cradle.
