Spring Minis - finally!

This poor blog is always the last to be updated when I'm super busy. But just because I haven't been blogging doesn't mean I haven't been shooting, creating, and editing, editing, editing. I have a couple of adorable sets of twins, a squishy newborn boy AND a girl, a small wedding, and a few fun families to update soon. Phew! No wonder I get behind on blogging. But if you're worried you're missing out on all the fun, I do update my Facebook fan page more often than this blog with sneak peeks and session updates. So come check it out!

Today, I want to update some of my favorite images from this year's spring mini sessions! Leave it to me to pick the HOTTEST weekend of the spring (and even really the summer so far) to hold my sessions, but that didn't stop me or the awesome families who came out from braving the heat and coming away with some precious shots. I don't have time to give each family a formal and individual shout out on here, but to those that see this, know how much I appreciate you and am grateful to you for trusting me with the images of your beautiful families and growing babies. Here are some I love.

Baby M

It has cracked me up recently, as a mama of 2 precious boys, that literally every newborn client I've had in 2011 has had a baby girl! And it is SUCH fun for me to take a break from blue, trains, blocks, and boys and immerse myself in all things pink, frilly, and girly. And adorable baby M was no exception! M's mama (who had maternity images done earlier this spring) planned the best and most colorful accessories for baby's session. And she even did what very few mamas (myself included!) dare to do at just a few days post-partum and joined her daughter in a few family shots, and I'm SO glad she did because these precious images are some of my new favorite family images to date. As you'll see, I had a teensy bit of trouble deciding on my favorites.

M family

The M family, and OH, these precious M girls. I was so excited to meet this family and their twin girls because, let's face it, two adorable girls are quite often better than one - at least as far as capturing great images goes. In real life, I'm sure it's much tougher on Mama! It was SO fun to meet these cute twins and to see their unique looks and personalities. Little M's red hair and blue eyes are beyond precious (and obviously I'm a little partial to red-headed, blue eyed children :)), and sweet D is just stunning with her dark hair and eyes. M warmed up to me right away and had no problem giving sweet smiles and radiated contentedness, while D took a little longer to get comfortable. Although you'd never know that from these images because once she warmed up, she was just as smiley as her sister if not more so. I could just eat them up! But instead I'll just share my favorites from our time together in Atlanta.

Sweet C *newborn*

This newborn session was a special one, not only because I felt a little like a superhuman for pulling it off since Knox was only a few weeks old at the time, but also because precious C's mama is a sweet friend of mine and we got to walk through our whole pregnancies together. It was SO special for me because I didn't know any other preggo mommies when I was expecting Hayden, so sharing cravings, aversions, hopes, fears, and endless name options was great fun for me! And even though the C family now has 2 girls, while we have 2 boys, I know we're going to remain great friends who just happen to shop on opposite sides of every children's store :) Here are a few to share of this pretty little one (the first of which is one of my new all-time favorite newborn shots!):

Spring minis are here!

Our cold weather is finally gone, spring has sprung, and I'm so excited to announce KDP's 2nd annual spring mini sessions!

And what is a mini session, you ask? It's a fun, quick session at a discounted rate at a gorgeous location that I've chosen. Whether you choose to have your whole family photographed or simply your kids or teen, spring minis are the perfect time to capture treasured images of your loved ones in a lush, spring time location. Here are all the details:

When: Saturday & Sunday, June 4-5.

Where: A private residence in Johns Creek, near Bell Road and about 10 minutes from Perimeter Church. It's a new location to me and totally spacious and gorgeous with several backdrop options! Lush green grass, lots of trees for perfect, shaded lighting, brightly-colored flowers, brick work, and more! Here are a few images I captured when I went to scope out the location:

Investment:

$125 for a 30-40 minute session and your 15 best, creatively enhanced images on a high resolution CD.

**For FOUR days (ending Monday, April 25th) I'm offering the sessions at a discounted $100 to clients who have booked a session with me in the past - just because I love my clients so much :)**

B Family

I'm hoping the shame from sharing session images of gorgeous autumn trees in April will keep me from ever getting this far behind in my blogging again, but just this once I'm going to keep using the last trimester pregnant/sleep-deprived new mommy excuse :) But I'm so glad I went back to this session's pictures because I forgot how much I LOVE them.

This is a very special family. Mama B is an amazing mommy, wife, mentor, lover of Jesus, and leader of the my discipleship group at my church. She is seriously one of the most inspiring women I know and has had such a profound effect on my relationship with the Lord. Her zeal for God is infectious, and I'm blessed to know her. And Hayden has some awesome friends in little C and W - how cute are they? Love this family.
